Leave the motorway Westautobahn at exit Thalgau (between Salzburg and Mondsee) and continue on the Federal road towards Hof, Fuschl am See, Bad Ischl.
Outside Hof bei Salzburg turn right towards Faistenau/Hintersee and, driving past Faistenau carry on driving for about 500 m up to the road towards Tiefbrunnau.
Do not drive through the village of Faistenau, but turn left towards Tiefbrunnau and after about 2,5 km turn left into the access road leading to the hotel Steinbräu.

no.2 to the main railway station. There you change into the Postbus directly to Faistenau (nearest stop Tiefbrunnau / Oberascher).
